The Museum is located on the site of the Astoria Studio, built in 1920. The history of the building itself is extraordinary, from it's earliest days as Paramount's East Coast production facility, and then an independent film production house to latter years as the US Army's Signal Corps Photographic Center which made films to speed the training of young enlisted men.
