Just over the border from northern New Jersey, this 1000 seat, vintage 1924 movie palace operates as a first-run movie theater seven days a week. However, every Saturday morning they screen classic films in their "Big Screen Classics Series," with pre-show music played on the theater's Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ.

Self-titled "Ithaca's year-round film festival," this campus film exhibition features close to 300 different films/videos per year, seven nights a week in the beautiful Willard Straight Theatre. The films include the best of classic Hollywood and foreign films, independent titles, documentaries, experimental work, recent international cinema, silent films with live musical accompaniment, and cult classics. Likewise they feature guest appearances by visiting film and videomakers.

Owned and operated by the same family for more than 80 years the Palace is a 700 seat grand theater (600 in the orchestra, 100 in the balcony). They offer the finest in independent and art house cinema, as well as a cafe and catering service featuring gourmet delights to suit every palette.

Openned in Rochester NY in 1929 as one of a small group of theatres designed to provide an "intimate" alternative to the large commercial movie houses of the day. The theater's long history resulted in a beautiful restoration and expansion and eventual transformation into a a 501(c)3 non-profit film society which features exceptional independent and art house cinema with community support.

This stunning, 1869 Opera House is the oldest continuously operating theater in New York State. They feature touring artists of the highest quality in theater, dance, music, and opera, but also run a continuous series of outstanding classic cinema with pre-show music performed on the theater's Mighty Wurlitzer Organ provided one half hour prior to show by The New York Theatre Organ Society.

A locally owned, Art Deco independent movie theater in operation since 1983. Features the best in independent, foreign and first-run art house cinema, as well as their Ultraviolet Cafe, with it's art show, fine espressos, teas, smoothies and sandwiches.

The Museum is located on the site of the Astoria Studio, built in 1920. The history of the building itself is extraordinary, from it's earliest days as Paramount's East Coast production facility, and then an independent film production house to latter years as the US Army's Signal Corps Photographic Center which made films to speed the training of young enlisted men. Since 1985 it has been turned into a non-profit museum dedicated to public education , by presenting exhibitions and screenings and maintaining a film collection.
