The Brattle Theatre, owned and operated by the Brattle Film Foundation, has been Boston's unofficial film school since 1953. They screen the best in classic, cutting-edge and world cinema with a different double feature almost every day.

The Harvard Film Archive features a public film program that offers audiences the opportunity to view international and independent films and to interact with filmmakers and artists. Film series are scheduled year-round and include retrospectives of distinguished directors and actors, surveys of important periods and movements, and in-depth explorations of historic themes and contemporary issues. Screenings of films from the HFA collection as well as those from other collections are held in the HFA Cinematheque, a 210-seat theater with state-of-the-art equipment.

The Coolidge Corner Theatre was built as a church in 1906 and converted to a commercial Art Deco movie house in 1933. It opened as a non-profit film foundation in 1988 and is the only not-for-profit member cinema in Boston. Located in the heart of Brookline, Massachusetts, this award winning theater showcases the finest in international, documentary, animated, and independent film.
