The Plaza began as an 1000 seat Art Deco cinema and live theatre in 1939 and was run as an XXX cinema and live burlesque theatre in the 1970s. It has undergone two purchases and renovations in 1983 and 2006 and is the oldest continually running cinema in the city! Called Atlanta's True Independent for their exceptional arthouse programming.

One of Atlanta's most popular film series, free showings of classic films at Piedmont Park in Midtown every Thursday evening at dusk. People usually start arriving for the best spots up front around 7:00 P.M.
