An intensive, hands on program which takes students from concept to marketing and all the practical steps in between. With all due respect to Mr. Godard, we at the IFI, think it takes quite a bit more. Our intensive, hands on program is also comprehensive taking students from concept to marketing while working the practical steps in between. The digital age has arrived and while technology changes every time we turn around, the rules of good Storytelling have remained the same for five thousand years. We don't choose to see a movie because of the camera it was shot with or the surface it was recorded on; we go because of the story, the actors, the director, or even the producer. Sid Gannis, President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said at the last Academy Award ceremony, "State of the art technique will change, state of the heart storytelling will not." With an understanding that the technology of film continues to evolve, IFI focuses primarily on the art and craft of good storytelling.
